Merge
Merge PDF files without uploading
Drop two or more PDFs, reorder them, and download one combined file — processed locally in your browser.
PDFCraftify uses pdf-lib in your tab to copy pages from each source PDF into a new document. Nothing is sent to our servers. Reorder files before merging, then download merged.pdf.
Why merge PDFs locally?
Upload-based mergers store a copy of your file on someone else's infrastructure — even if they delete it later. For NDAs, medical records, bank statements, or signed contracts, that exposure matters.
Browser-based merging reads files with the standard File API, builds the output in memory, and triggers a normal download. You can confirm in your browser's network tab: no upload request when you merge.
PDFCraftify never asks for your email to download the merged file. There is no queue and no watermark on the export.
What to expect from the output
Pages are copied object-by-object, so text stays selectable, images stay embedded, and typical form structure is preserved. Very large PDFs are limited by available browser memory rather than an arbitrary server cap.
Need to drop pages first? Use Extract / Remove, then merge the cleaned files. Need a specific page order within one file? Use Organize, then merge.
File order in the list is page order in the final PDF: cover letter first, résumé second, portfolio third — drag rows until the sequence is right.
Common merge workflows
Job applications: combine cover letter, CV, and certificates into one attachment for an employer portal.
Real estate: merge disclosure PDFs, inspection reports, and signed addenda before sending to a client.
Finance: merge monthly statements or invoices exported from different systems into one archive PDF.
Education: bundle assignment PDFs from multiple students only after each file is already a PDF — merge does not convert Word docs.
How to verify files stay on your device
Open DevTools → Network, filter by Fetch/XHR, merge a test PDF, and confirm no request contains your file body.
Stronger check: load the merge tool, disconnect from the internet, and merge again. Local processing should still complete because your document is not sent upstream.
Mobile and desktop
Merge works in modern Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and phone. Phones have less RAM, so merge a few smaller files at a time on mobile.
Use a device you control. Avoid public lab computers for confidential merges even when processing is local — local malware or shoulder surfing is still a risk.
Troubleshooting
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked in another app before merge. The browser cannot combine encrypted files it cannot read.
If merge fails or the tab crashes, try fewer files per batch or close other heavy tabs to free memory.
If page order looks wrong, check the file list order before clicking Merge — reordering after export requires merging again.

Frequently asked questions
- Is merging PDFs free?
- Yes. Merge PDF files online for free with PDFCraftify — no account required.
- Are my files uploaded when I merge PDFs?
- No. Merging runs entirely in your browser with pdf-lib. Your PDFs are not sent to PDFCraftify servers.
- How many PDFs can I merge at once?
- Add as many files as your browser can handle in memory. Start with a few documents; very large jobs may take longer on older devices.
- Can I change the page order before merging?
- Yes. Drag and drop files in the list to set merge order before you click Merge PDF.
- Does the merged PDF have a watermark?
- No. PDFCraftify does not add watermarks to exported files.
