How to split PDF without uploading
Extract chapters, invoices, or appendix pages locally — no cloud queue, no email link, no copy on a remote server.
Cloud splitters upload your file, process it elsewhere, and hand back a download URL. PDFCraftify splits inside your browser: you choose page ranges, export, and save files directly from your machine.
Step by step
- Open PDFCraftify Split PDF on a trusted device and browser.
- Add the PDF you want to split.
- Enter one or more page ranges (for example 1–12 and 13–40).
- Choose separate files or one combined export, then download the results.
Why split locally instead of in the cloud?
Payroll packets, student transcripts, discovery productions, and HR onboarding packs often contain data you cannot risk leaving on a third-party server — even briefly.
Local splitting means the only storage involved is your own disk and browser memory while the job runs. When you close the tab, PDFCraftify does not retain your document for core split processing.
Page range examples
Annual report: split pages 1–3 (cover and TOC) from pages 4–80 (body) before emailing only the summary to executives.
Bundled invoices: one scanned PDF with ten vendors — split into ten files by range so each AP ticket attaches the right PDF.
Textbook PDF: split each chapter by its start/end page numbers for students who only purchased one module.
Split vs extract / remove
Split is fastest when you already know page numbers. Extract / Remove is better when you want a visual grid and checkboxes.
Both are local on PDFCraftify. Pick whichever matches how you think about the document.
Check that nothing was uploaded
Use the Network panel in DevTools while splitting a sample file. You should not see multipart uploads of your PDF.
Optional offline test: open the tool, go offline, split a small PDF. If export still works, processing stayed on-device.
Limits and troubleshooting
Huge files may slow down or fail on low-memory devices — split in smaller chunks or use a desktop browser.
Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first. Corrupted downloads rarely happen; if they do, re-export or try another browser.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I split into more than two files?
- Yes. Add multiple page ranges and export each as its own PDF, or combine selected ranges into one file.
- Is splitting free?
- Yes. Split PDF by page range is free with no watermark on exports.
- Does split change image quality?
- No. Pages are copied into new PDFs; content is not re-scanned or re-compressed by default.
